Live Jazz at Klub RE:

If you're looking for live music, check out RE:, a typical piwnica (basement bar) in the Stare Miasto. They must have a great booking manager, because every three weeks or so they manage to get some fairly big names from the jazz/electro scene to packed crowds (about 150 can squeeze inside).

Since there is not much advertising, be on the lookout for the few posters hung halfheartedly about town, usually a few days before a show. It's the most unpretentious concert-going you can imagine – there's not even a backstage, so you can chat with the band before/after/during the set.

In what must be a nod to the fact that many of the performers come from the US, there's no smoking during a gig.
