The Fat Cat
I didn't want to go out that night, but my friends dragged me to go meet some of their other friends at this place called The Fat Cat. I was reluctant to go because of all the work I had to do, and I was just plain tired. I hadn't even heard of this place until that night...it couldn't be that great, right?
Boy, was I wrong. As soon as we stepped out of the taxi, I could see that the pub was absolutely PACKED. It wasn't surprising either, once I got inside and looked at the drink list. Chalkboards full of different beers, ones I had never heard of, probably would never have if I hadn't come to this pub. My friends and I basically eeny-meeny-miny-moed and chose a beer, and all of them were terrific!!
The atmosphere was great too. It was lively, but you could definitely still carry on a conversation with your friends without getting too distracted. There were a lot of locals there, which I wasn't used to...All I ever went to before was something student-oriented.
The prices were great too!! All ranged around 2 pounds a pint, damn cheap compared to other pubs I had been to. It's about the same price at the UEA campus bar, and there's a much greater selection at The Fat Cat.
The pub is a little out of the main city centre, so don't go wandering around trying to find it. Take a taxi there and experience the joy that is The Fat Cat. You'll be glad you did.
