English Mexican Food
Umm, yes. So, if anyone has ever tasted what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like, you will not appreciate what Pedro's Mexican Cantina defines as Mexican food. I came to Norwich with a bunch of Californians and the first thing that we craved (besides In-n-Out burgers) was some good, home-cooked Mexican food. Burritos, nachos, you know, the whole nine yards. Much to our delight, we discovered that there was a Mexican restaurant on the way to town that one English bloke referred to as "the place with the best damn nachos in town."
Obviously, this guy had never had real south of the border food. My friends and I arrived at the restaurant, eager to devour what we had craved for so long. However, as soon as we saw their "salsa," we knew we were in trouble. When our main courses came out, we were surprised to see what they considered a burrito. Not to mention the waitress didn't understand what a cheese enchilada was. Making a long story short, we left disappointed and sick from Pedro's. I wish that I could say better things about this restaurant, but basically it has overpriced and bad Mexican food. Avoid it if you can, and stick with home-cooked burritos and nachos(you can do it, just look in the international foods part of the grocery store). Just keep telling yourself that it'll make the real thing taste that much better when you finally get back to it.
