The Alibi: A Great Pub in a Fine City.

While Norwich is certainly a fantastic city with an impressive array of pubs and clubs to keep everyone busy on any given night, it must be said that the pubs tend to close especially early on every night of the week. As the majority of pubs I've seen close at 11:00pm (23:00), there doesn't seem to be much space for those that would like to have a nice night out without going to a club. Whatever the reason for this early shut-down time, Norwich has at least one saving grace.

The Alibi, a small and frequently overlooked pub, is a great little spot in town. Open until 1:00am every night except Sunday, the Alibi is located in the type of place where if you didn't know it was there, you might not ever find it. Once you do, you'll be glad you did.

There's a one pound cover charge that a friendly guy in a black leather jacket lives to remind us of, but spending the night at The Alibi is definitely worth the pound. There are a series of small tables, along with a cozy back room where people sit on the floor with a pint in hand.

A DJ is usually on hand playing an eclectic but respectable line-up of songs that acts as a nice backdrop to the already chill atmosphere. Often people are dancing in the back, but if you don't feel like dancing, don?t worry about it. Most people come for the alcohol anyway.

Every night before 11:00pm students get 50p off of every pint they buy (if you think you'll be drinking a few pints after 11:00, my advice is to just stock up beforehand to save your money, and have a full table for the night), which is another great perk.

Basically, The Alibi is just a great spot where there are always fun people, a great evening ambiance, good drinks at good prices, and the city's best opening hours. For students who haven't yet gotten to Norwich, the Alibi is something definitely worth checking out. For students who are in Norwich, hurry up, the is year almost over.
