The Lake District.

England is home to many parks and forests, but one of the must-sees while you travel on this island is the Lake District. The District is home to several lakes and dozens of small towns, where one can take in nature and hike various trails around the area. The amiable townsfolk in the area offer B&Bs, hotels, and hostels for those who would like to make a weekend or even a week out of the District.

To get there, one can either take the coach or take the train (along a very scenic route lined with sheep.) If there are many of you, driving would be the best option as you can traverse through the countryside without worrying about catching the shuttle back home. Beware of the weekend rush back to the city, as the normal two-hour drive can take almost four hours due to the two-lane highway (one lane in either direction!) That's as English as you can get...
