The Lowdown on Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The Shop Cafe and Bakery
The shop is nestled on Street 240 - a cozy tree lined street where the frenetic pace of Phnom Penh's roads can be left behind. With a style that is clean and modern, the Shop wouldn't be out of place in any smart urban setting, and in Phnom Penh it offers a welcome break.
The mediterranean menu changes weekly, with a liberal dose of quiche, fritattas and hearty (but small) sandwiches. The portions tend to be rather small and won't fill you up, but my favorite part are the baked goods, made daily, of which there is a large assortment.
Lemon and rasberry tarts, fresh breads, croissants, pain au chocolate - The Shop is at its best for me as a cafe, with good coffee and a truly delicious pastry on the side. Combined with the tranquility of its location, a visit is practially an obligation at least once a week.
