The Lowdown on Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Java Cafe and Bakery.
With a beautiful view of Hun Sen Park, Java is a poplar place to eat and is the de facto meeting point for many of Phnom Penh's expat consultants.
Java has done an excellent job of preserving the colonial feel of the architecture without the pretension. It's a comfortable place to hang out, with friendly staff and excellent food.
The menu runs the gamut, from fresh bagels, sandwiches, and hearty favorites like pancakes (and really delicious bacon), to well thought-out dinner menus and weekly specials.
Java also doubles as an art gallery and non-profit arts organization, with monthly shows that feature an eclectic mix of local Khmer and expat artists.
A pleasant place to relax and enjoy geat food.
